It is a beautiful sculpture, Oscar would have loved it.

Watched some great sppeches over the last few nights. I have been encouraged by the enthusiasm of the DNC crowd and the sheer determination that the USA is faced with an election in which it must choose a direction; forward or backward.

Can you imagine a Supreme Court with new conservative appointees shoring up  the vapid ideology of Scalia and Alito ?  And imagine their partisan  "strict constructionist" delusions prevailing for a generation ?  It would simply be a disaster.........they would uphold voting rights restrictions, repeal DADT, affirm DOMA, repeal Roe -v- Wade.......... My god, they have already allowed lobbyists to buy elections under Citizens United.......what else will they do to undermine the value of democracy and the the value of the single vote ?  

Democratiic Convention

Watching DNC speeches last night.
Those speeches, especially Duval Patrick (? Sp.) and Gov. O'Malley of Maryland were of a quality way beyond the disguised bigotry of the Republicans last week.
The democrats must be favourites to take both houses.
